Whether you’re a total beginner or looking to refine your cast, you’ll gain an understanding of the craft and the essential techniques that make a successful angler. • Begin by exploring the origins of fly-fishing in the Catskills. I’ll explain the evolution of the sport and its lasting legacy in the region. • Learn about trout behavior, feeding patterns, and how to read the river. I’ll give you a clear, practical breakdown of how to increase your chances of a successful catch. • Put theory into practice with a hands-on fly-casting lesson. I’ll guide you step by step. Wrap up the experience by swapping stories streamside, reflecting on what you’ve learned. You’ll leave with a curated goodie bag to kickstart your fly-fishing journey at home.

Climb to the cascades at Kaaterskill Falls

Long before you hear it, you’ll feel it—the pulse of Kaaterskill Falls echoing through the forest. This is more than a hike; it’s a trek to one of the Catskills’ most iconic natural wonders. Weave through towering trees with me, climb natural rock staircases, and listen as the roar of cascading water grows louder with every step. • Meet at the Kaaterskill Falls trailhead for check-in and equipment fitting. Here, you’ll receive snowshoes or climbing spikes as needed, and get a quick rundown of the trail route and what to expect. • Begin the climb through towering woodland, followed by the Lower Falls Viewing Area for a mesmerizing, ground-level look at the cascading water. • Next, tackle a steeper incline as the landscape transforms into rugged rock formations. Natural ledges offer sweeping vistas of the Catskill Mountains along this stretch, and spots to rest and hydrate. • When you reach the Upper Falls Lookout, the full splendor of Kaaterskill Falls unfolds. But your ascent doesn’t end there. Continue to the very top and enjoy a moment of tranquility while soaking in panoramic views. As you descend and step away from the trail, the roar of the falls and the crisp mountain air will linger, calling you back for your next adventure.

Golden hour kayak on the Hudson River

Join me, an expert adventure guide and Catskills native, for a sunset kayak paddle along the historic Hudson River, looping around the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse as the sky turns pink. Beginners and experienced kayakers are all welcome. • Meet at the kayak launch in Athens, where you’ll get fitted for your gear. I’ll share an overview of our route and run through safety guidelines and paddling techniques. • Off you go! Paddle toward the lighthouse, exploring hidden inlets and spotting wildlife as you go. Along the way, I’ll discuss the history of the lighthouse and this region. • Tide permitting, pause at the Middle Ground Flats, a small forested island, to stretch your legs and take some photos. • As the sun sets, paddle to a scenic spot for quiet reflection and more photos, before heading back to our starting point as dusk settles in. You’ll leave having enjoyed a serene Catskills sunset—and an unforgettable experience on the water.

Did you know that spending time around animals reduces stress and increases feelings of happiness? You can double that when they are rescued goats! Come meet and spend time with some of the most affectionate goats there are. Visitors will get to meet and learn about each goat and breed, as well as their rescue stories, behaviors and personalities! You'll become part of the herd when we start on a leisurely 1 mile hike on meandering trails through our 15 acre property with the goats, who enjoy foraging along the way. Watching the goats in a natural habitat and bonding with them is truly magical! The experience is also loaded with goat fun facts, corny goat jokes and a goat scavenger hunt to make this experience the G.O.A.T. We end with extra quality time with all of the goats, who love lots of attention, allowing for plenty of hugs, scratches, and photo ops. This experience is fun for all ages - we have an equal amount of adults and children. If a date or time isn't available on our calendar, please ask! We would love to accommodate you if we are able! Please note: * Please note that while our goats are friendly, children must be supervised closely at all times. *For those with mobility issues, the hike may prove challenging as there are narrow parts of the trail as well as rocks, roots and goats underfoot.

Warm and Fuzzy Small Animal Experience

When you arrive at Clover Brooke Farm, nestled within 25 bucolic countryside acres located in Historic Hudson Valley, you will be greeted in front of our 1850 Farm Store and warmly welcomed for your one of a kind Small Animal Experience. We will provide an opportunity for hands-on experiences with a variety of our friendly animals .This activity is designed for participants to learn, bridge friendships and practice kindness with our farm animals. You will spend 45 minutes with some of our common (or not so common) domestic animals like bunnies, llama or alpaca, chicken, sheep and goats. Participants will learn how to safely interact with both small and large animals in this closeup and unforgettable experience. Our hope is, you will enjoy your animal immersion, designed to engage the young in age and the young at heart. Arrive early/stay late to browse our Farm Store stocked with many handmade items, including our Farm made: yarns, roving, farmed raised honey, assortment of goat milk soap, llama/alpaca pins and many more Clover Brooke Farm specialities. Other things to note PLEASE NOTE: every member requires a ticket for admission! Parents & guardians need to purchase a ticket for themselves as well in order to accompany their children onto the farm property. Your visit will begin with a brief tour of our farm and introductions to some of our smaller friends (i.e. Pygoras goats, Sheep and overly friendly Barn Cats ) with a short story of our 1850 homestead located in The Historic Hudson Valley on 25 bucolic acres . We will then introduce you to both instructors for a fun session of Outdoor Yoga, alongside Clover Brooke Farm's friendly Llamas and alpacas, with Yoga instructor Virginia Bocchicchio. Followed by a hands on class creating your own Lavendar Loofah by Andrea Parent-Tibbetts. No worries if you're new to Yoga. We welcome you to experience a session that covers yoga essentials and is geared toward beginners, but all levels are welcome. Blended with this is a 'one of a kind' Lavendar Experience, creating your very own loofah to enjoy at home. At the end of the Yoga class, you will be visited by our friendly goats and sheep, before you begin your Lavendar Loofah class, allowing you plenty of time to take selfies with our furry and adorable animals. Your fee includes one Yoga session and one lesson on creating your own Lavender Loofah, with the added bonus of unlimited Llama Selfies! Other things to note Dress accordingly for the weather as this Experience is outside, Rain/Shine.
